The job I handed over
- Hand over a week of product development: login and staying signed in, an admin dashboard, and fixes that make the software easier for people with disabilities to use.
What happened
- 98 commits — saved code changes — merged into the main version. No human wrote the code.
- All three areas were reported complete.
How I checked it
- Counting code changes does not tell me whether the work passed — it measures motion, not outcome.
- Each feature needs its own check: can someone log in, can an admin see what they're supposed to see, does the page work without a mouse.
What it took from me
- Review time went into deciding what to accept, not into writing code.
What I took from it
- Delegating software development is the easy half. Knowing the login works is the half that still needs me.
Try this
- Pick the one result a customer would notice if it broke. Check that it works instead of just counting how much work was done.
Applies wherever an agent's output is easy to count and hard to verify.
